In the Fast Lane 2025 - Day 2

With Faith

Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him.

This is a real encouragement for us to believe that God exists, hears our prayers and is able to act on our behalf.

We believe by ‘faith’ because it doesn’t always feel like God hears, or that He is moving on our behalf.

Proverbs 3:5 encourages us to:

“Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding”.

Let us try not to second-guess God in what He is doing in these three days. Sometimes it’s not about what He is doing for us, but rather what He is doing in us.

Hebrews 11 is jam-packed with people who continue to believe God against the odds. This was not based on the ‘gritted teeth’ and ‘white knuckles’ of human strength, but the faith confidence that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or even imagine.

Hebrews 11:8 tells us that Abraham was called to go to a place he would later receive as His inheritance. Sometimes God has to dislodge us from where we are, so that we are positioned to receive what He wants to give us later. Bear that in mind as we pray today, the walk of faith does not have every ‘t’ crossed and every ‘i’ dotted.

The beginning of a New Year can have the excitement of a fresh beginning mixed with the intimidation of the unknown, however, we are not alone as Jesus reassures us that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Just as Joshua faced the challenges ahead of him, the Lord encouraged him and I believe encourages you today.

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬

“…Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Have faith in God therefore, knowing that when all is said and done, we will not be disappointed.
